The first group to go through the section of trail about ten minutes from here were
"thrilled" to come across a Mama bear with baby. The baby ran straight up a
tree and they were obliged to try and continue on, making as much noise as
possible to prevent Mama bear getting any defensive ideas. They called
back to the next set of riders (Jenni Smith) who heard them but thought they
were just partying. By the time our group came along, we were oblivious to
either bears or partying...
